One more time she grasps the boot straps
Picking her self up
Strength is gone
This could take awhile
But time is all that is left
Time ticking away
With every beat of her heart
Hoping sometimes the sound will stop
But on and on it goes
Mustering all she has
Standing after the storm
Accessing the damage
The boot straps weakening from the tugs of life
But still connected
To the feet that will walk on
Pick ourselves up and start all over again....This one I love for it struck a chord in my heart.........[running out door, late for dinner here] thanks for this......mm.xo
I like this, I like the title as well, I enjoy works that inspire people to make a go of their lives, Despite all the trials and tribulations, And this does that in no uncertain terms, Get in there, You have something to offer and be appreciated
I agree with the concept clearly depicted here, pick yourself up and move on baby. Excellent write Patricia.--Melvina--
I agree with All the other comments! Reminds me of a song that came out here a few years ago: 'I get knocked down, I get up again....Nobody gonna keep me down' (roughly) . I well believe you Patricia.
When the going gets tough the get going.Knocked down, pick yourself up and get on with life
To carry on when all about you is falling apart is courageous indeed. A nice poem Patricia. Sid John x.

An interesting write, Patricia. It leaves me wondering about the storm. Is it one of Mother Nature's? Or something more personal? The feet that will 'walk on' could be walking away from anything! I like this sort of poem where we are left with questions. A compelling read. Love, Fran xxx
