Both Sides Of The Border Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Both Sides Of The Border

I...
Wish to keep,
My life to live...
As peacefully as I can keep it.
Walking everyday through confusion.
I may meet to leave in the streets.
And I...
Wish to keep,
Myself from conflicts started.
And decisions that are made,
To throw stones, sticks and rocks.
By those whose minds have stopped.
From growth to rot.

On both sides of the border,
People seem to be in disorder.
Fenced in,
Sickened and tricked.
Addicted to division.
And a wickedness they can't quit.

All along,
Both sides of the border.
People seem to be in disorder.
Fenced in, sickened and tricked.
And addicted to division.

I...
Wish to keep,
My life to live...
As peacefully as I can keep it.
And I...
Wish to keep,
Myself from conflicts started.
I may meet to leave in the streets.

All along,
Both sides of the border.
People seem to be in disorder.
Addicted to conflicts started.
Throwing stones, sticks and rocks.
As if time in their minds have stopped.
And...
All along,
Both sides of the border...
People are proving everyday,
Something in the air...
Has made them crazed.

I...
Wish to keep,
As sane as possible.
Even if today that's not a normalcy.
Getting more rare to share,
And to keep it believed.
