Bring Me That Love Poem by Rutvi Padhy

Bring Me That Love

Like a drop of rain it had embraced my heart,

And like the drop itself, love had drifted away,

And in the damp soil, it had lost it's name,

So can you find me that drop of love again?

Like the swift, soft breeze, it had soothed my skin,

And with the breeze itself, it had blown away,

But it did leave footprints on the erratic wind,

So can you follow its tracks and call it back this way?

Like the waves of the sea, it had brought me joys,

And like a retreating wave, it'd left me a withered beach,

And now that same merry surge wouldn't come to me,

So can you bring them to me from the depths again?

Can you bring me that same drop of rain?

Can you bring me that same gust of wind?

Can you bring me the same wave from the sea?

No,

That essence of love comes once,

It doesn't come time and again...
