Broken Cayons Still Color Poem by Colette Dright

Broken Cayons Still Color

There are times in life where you will have emotional highs and lows. There will be rejection, hurt and disappointment. There will be times you will be broken, your heart, your thoughts and at times even your spirit. But through it all, there will be God's light guiding you, walking with you, shining upon you, holding you, protecting you and covering you.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper. So during those times of weakness, confusion and uncertainty and during difficult moments and challenges, don't be discouraged, just know, God is carrying you through the rain and through the storms of life. Believe, hold on, be strong and KNOW better days are ahead.

So yeah, no matter what color you may be at this moment, you may be black, gray or blue, it may be dark and gloomy and you may be broken,
but YOU are still important, you still matter.

Always remember, you still add beauty and color to the world. Be prepared and know the sun will shine after while. And yes, soon you will be happy, smiling and vibrant again, adding pink, yellow, orange, peach, lime, red and all those beautiful colors to the world through your existence.

So yeah, Broken Crayons Still Color!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this after visiting a women's center for recovering drug users. After talking with the ladies they expressed how hurt and
broken they were. They were so discouraged and felt useless.
So to my readers, there too are times you have been or will be broken. Just trust God through the tears, through the storm and through the process and KNOW, YOU STILL MATTER!
