Broken Hearts Poem by Lex Leon

Broken Hearts

I learned how to break hearts for anything but love
I could erect your feelings like a flying dove
Also could destroy it from the face of the earth
By leaving pain and taking pieces of the souls
I burned the bridges leaving emptiness in the process
The broken hearts still trapped in the land of empty promise
The light is gone, now shadow makes the day
The rain will wash, my tracks away
I promised to come back, but don’t trust me, don’t wait on me
Like a mirage the words will be dissolved
Without a doubt, yet everything remains unsolved
You were blind at times
You thought I was the only one
But I knew, for me, you’re just another dime
You so naively trusted, when I delivered the web of sweetest lies
I was destroying love, you didn’t understand it,
Your love for me, so pure and sacred
My role - required me to fake it.
As our bodies touching, tender delirium I’m whispering in your ear
Touching of the lips and arms all night, sunk in fear,
Of losing your love so dear to you
You fall asleep crying from inside and out
My presence gets distant, you cant even shout, your body screams stop
Yet you’re making no sound,
As your soul kept on dying, I simply walked out
Then sunrise,
My bouquet of flowers will last another day
Then fly right out the window
You’ll try to call, unreachable, your life got dimmer
Good bye, I’m sorry, now it’s over
It wasn’t meant for us to be, to love I am unable
It was predetermined from the start,
No stitch will ever help, your broken heart
I know it’s sinful, I know I shouldn’t have done it
I will not shed a tear, I’ll never break apart
You realized you now, belong to club of broken hearts…

Most unfortunate! But it does happen in some cases!
