You are crying because you were born proud
You are crying because you always work hard
You are crying because you are a good man
Not because you are a lucky black man
You are crying because you earned this moment
Nobody can give you hell, nobody can give you torment
You are crying because you are a proud Cadet
You know that you have not touched the star yet
You are working on it; life is a work-in-progress
You worked hard, and you will, without a doubt, find success.
The tears which are decorating your proud ebony face
Came from the eyes of your ancestors. Nobody can erase
Or dilute the red blood cells that are flowing through your veins
Today, you have defeated the ugliness of racism. No pains
Could stop you; you had a mission, and you got it done
You are a proud man, it looks like that you are in heaven
Many ignored the bridges of hell that you had to cross
Many were hoping that you would fail, you came across
And you had to fly over countless hurdles. You are crying
For myriad reasons. You are crying because you can control the ring
You can fight like a Champion. You are as intelligent as any other graduates
You crying because you have guts, many other candidates or classmates
Did not make it. You are crying because you are a born winner
Your birthplace did not discourage you. Your beautiful color
Did not stop you. You had a mission and you got the job done
All of us are moved, because you put us in heaven
We are applauding. We are proud of you. You made our day
You made our people proud. We will honor you. We will pray
For you every day. You inherited the courage from your ancestors
You are crying because you fear no evils, no haters and no detractors
You are crying because you were born proud
You are crying because you always work hard.
