Call Me (Italian Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

Call Me (Italian Sonnet)

(for Annelize)

Call me when sadness fills your entire day,
when only heartache and pain do remain,
when every disaster to you becomes plain,
when with tears you have no more words to say.

Call me when you do feel happy and gay,
when it seems as you do all the world gain,
desire unstoppable do to love appertain,
silence does of your unending love say,

when you want all of your dreams to be true,
awareness is in every stolen glance
when desire become bodily poetry.
With humble words I will say that I love you,
beg you with me again to take a chance,
when pure madness all of life seems to be.
