Carcinoma Blue Poem by Ruben Tover

Carcinoma Blue

It came down, like a sledge hummer hit!
News of invasive Carcinoma.
Normally, stories of this, pass us by.
Now it affects her and I.

The crushing blow was devastating
Lord give us strength to stand up high.
Cause what will be…will be.
Time is a precious commodity.

Tears rolled down, but her smiled prevailed.
Embraced in love as we both exhaled.
Institute hall was quite, dark and bold.
We walked outside and met the cold.

Swirling visions cloud out mind.
So many years become entwined.
HOPE, has a flavor, it tastes so sweet.
The faith of our soul becomes complete.

"What did the doctor say? "
He said, "He has to remove my breast…"

Carcinoma Blue, please go away!
Carcinoma-In-Situ,
You make me blue.
