Chance Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Chance

Life is but a chance
I think I should take one
the world has been hurtful and unkind
if I dream of love I should make love

Just a few days left of sunshine
I should chance spending them with you
we might fail miserably
but miserable is what we feel now
we might just as well succeed
and unite one day in a solemn vow
And sitting here I wonder how
why don't we take that chance
mabye this is our chance now

Because tomorrow will quickly come and pass
and the next day might be too late
I've waited all my life
and my heart has felt the weight
perhaps we should take a chance
and rely of faith and fate
I will not long be here
and you may never again be so near
what is it we really fear?

Come away with me my dear
hold my hand and let me pull your love near
Sadness will be unable to reach me if your're here
and lonliness we would no longer fear
So maybe we should chance to fall in love
I'll pedal
You steer
