Chant Poem by moon dust

Chant

Hey you
Yeah you, remember me
Well I remember you, always somewhere in my mind
Reminding me of a time long ago
You danced with me around the fire, one hot summer night
Your eyes catching mine across the flickering light
And we watched the flames grow higher
Reaching up to the darkened skies
And we partied and laughed harder
Yelling and howling louder
Those nights under the hot, black sky
And you danced for me and I danced for you
There was nothing our young love couldn't make it through
And we chanted on and on
Then we grew older, and the fires burned a little colder
I saw you dance for someone new
Then I started dancing too
And we watched the flames grow higher
Licking the darkened skies
And we partied and cried harder
Yelling and screaming louder
Those last nights under the hot summer sky
The fire is cold, ashes blown to the winds
I remember the dance in the flickering light
The hot blackened night.
