Chemistry Poem by Tatianna Rogers

Chemistry

I have never been good at chemistry

So you'll have to excuse me if Idon't understand bonding
Connecting so tightly that the Ions don't matter
Materials don't matter because after all its just matter

You see love is science

But i'm what what you call a scientific mystery
And even though history and textbooks show that opposites attract
I can't find that positive thing that sucks up my negativity

You see chemistry Is...

I subject that surpasses my immediate knowledge
So I may need some lessons
From a tutor whose an expert on the art of deep affections

Will you be my teacher?

Be hands on with your methods so I can feel love in all ten fingers
And when they touch my skin it stings for awhile

Teach me how love is visual
Different hues of light
Tell me what the colors mean

Blue for sadness
Green for envy
Pink... for love

Talk to me gently and listen with understanding
I'm sorry if my ignorance makes Your job demanding
but I want to learn

I just need a teacher because love is chemistry

...science

And I never understood science

Or love...

And I just don't want to fail
