Growing Up Poem by Tatianna Rogers

Growing Up

Rating: 5.0

We walked on hating each other

But I could sense truer feelings ran deep

The previous steam that rose began to steep

Giving off a sweet scent

I could see in his eyes he feared losing his little girl

I place a hand of reassurance on his shoulder

So we walked on in silence

But out heartbeats whisper in soft tones

His said "I love you"

Mine said "I know"

Mine said "I'm growing up"

His said"don't go"

And so we walked on...

Trying not to fall apart

Trying to numb the pain in our hearts

We walked on

And on...

And on...
