Cherry Petals Poem by Elena Sandu

Cherry Petals

Rating: 3.3

Last day of May
The sun keeps spoiling me
with a long waited warm feel
I slowly walk on the broken asphalt
with patches of undisturbed
growing wild grass.
Yellow drops of dandelions greeting
petals of cherry blossoms wildly flying.
My lips stretched to refuse,
I happily wonder
if all this splendor
Wasn't it meant just as a special gift
of joy for only me, Ahoy!
Sweet fragrance of late spring
pink petals on a black asphalt...
But moment of beauty swift
my sudden selfish thought:
The wind blows some bug
on my soft shade of red
(freshly treated henna) hair
Frightened I whimpered
a funny sound and jumped aside
Ugh... flicked it away.
Making sure none
but the wind could hear me
I instant burst with laughter
Dear wind with me laughs
dancing the cherry petals
around me in circles
aww, sweet beautiful image!
Bursting in applause storm
For a good laugh
Great lesson learned:

If ever think again a song
of love would be only for me
be sure, know, could be a prank,
meant maybe, only to bring smiles.
Do never mind, only a friendly wind.

A natural write of slightly erratic form which follows perfectly our many racing thoughts and emotions. Maybe the little bug wrote a poem about its day in May where the wind unkindly blew it into a red haired human and how it survived being flicked away and it too later laughed with the wind. :)
