Childe Harold For Vegetarians Poem by Tom Billsborough

Childe Harold For Vegetarians

Rating: 5.0

Stuck in Stockholm one fine day
I met a Swede. It ran away.
In Brussels to a juicy sprout
I mentioned Xmas. It ran out.
In N.Y. State it was a squash.
Its eyes you know were all awash
With copious tears. "Oh don't eat me.
My mum expects me home for tea."
In Kingston town in old Jamaica
I happened on a straight banana.
"You're a wonder, " I declared.
But sadly it became quite scared.
These Veggies guess my evil plan
I am a Vegetarian!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Lord Byron's long poem "Childe Harold" recounts his Grand Tour across Europe. My poem's a bit shorter and for Vegetarians.

Tom, this was a full belly laugh. I do like reading things other than about humans all the time. It great to think outside the box. And you are off your trolly ha ha. Kidding ;)
