Children Of The World Poem by louis rams

Children Of The World

Rating: 5.0

We must console the child who has no home
They've been doing it on their own
They have no parents or family
They feel this is where they have to be.
They become hustlers, beggars, thieves and more
This is the life of the poor.
Giving birth and selling their children has become a trend
And it seems there is no end.
Then some will escape and land on the streets
That is when the older ones will abuse the young and weak
If shelter is what they seek.
This is mostly from third world countries where only
The fittest survive, and this my friend is no lie.
Charity and help must start some where, but the
Politicians really don't care.
What the public should do is have the politicians
Reverse their roles and live six months in the slums
With the poor and cold.
Would they survive?I think not! And they won't allow
Themselves to be put in that spot.
The poor exists in every country including here in the states
Let's do something before it's too late.

That is when the older ones will abuse the young and weak If shelter is what they seek.... Politicians really don't care.... //.... The poem seeks to highlight the plight of the poor in the world. You have suggested an original idea to bring about change in the situation- It should be mandatory for the politicians to live in slums to know their problems first hand. Thank you, Dear Friend.
