Choke Up Poem by Jayson Howard

Choke Up

Today will start out right.
I won’t look back on last night,
on the sorrow that scarred my life.

I’ll walk on,
a path that can’t go wrong,
where obstacles are all gone.

And I’ll try to meet,
the girl down the street,
to see if she wants to go out and eat…

Or we could go downtown,
and see the clowns,
of the new aged revolution.
We’ll speak up,
before we choke up,
in this teenage evolution.
