Christmas Poems: Gift Giving! ©

Days before Christmas, that sweet busy time,
Santa was polishing, the bells that would chime!
He had presents to pack, and toys to still make,
Mrs.Santa was baking, a big Christmas cake!
Santa needed some help, his elves were all ill,
His reindeer were sulking, in no mood for good-will!
Each of them wanted, a shining red nose,
As round as Rudolph's... but as red as a rose!

Santa worked late, making wonderful toys,
for all the good children, both girls and boys,
He wrapped them up neatly, and started to pack,
And put them all into, his big old brown sack!
He sped in his sleigh, all over the earth!
Heralding good tidings, of the babyChrist's birth!
There were all kinds of presents, in every size,
Santa gave them to children, with twinkling eyes!

Then his reindeer got fiesty, when in the sleigh he alighted,
They galloped and bounced and got over excited;
Santa clung on to his reins, with all of his might,
But some of the presents, fell out in the night...
The presents went tumbling, into the dark sky,
Santa couldn't catch them, though he did make a try,
Now what would he give, to those children who were good,
Who had behaved themselves, and done all that they should?

Then, far in the distance, he heard a sweet sound,
Children were praying, on the snow covered ground!
They called, 'Don't worry Santa, We have presents galore!
Don't worry about ours! We don't need anymore! '
Santa smiled when they said that, He knew God had heard,
He laughed happily, tickling his white beard!
Ho! Ho! Ho! little smallies, It's Christmas miracle time!
The smallies heard sleigh bells, begining to chime!

The sleighbells awoke them, they ran to the tree,
There were presents for them, Special Delivery!
Mummy was delighted, and hugged them with love,
for she knew that the presents, had come from above!
And way up in Heaven, Santa watched their sweet joy,
As they laughed as they, unwrapped toy after toy!
Their Dad was transfixed, by a magic toy train,
He played with it all day, again and again!

So here is a lesson worth learning by heart,
You'll know it by now, because you're so smart!
Be caring and sharing, in all that you do,
And the love that you give, will return right to you!
