Condition To Write Poem by Custous Angelus

Condition To Write

Let not my surrounding bind my mind
But if I can I will sit in my bed
Or in a café with sweet smell of coffee
Or in forest with the smell of fresh air
Let not technology be part of my writing
A good old pencil and eraser is all I need
Night or day,
Summer or winter,
Weekdays or weekends
It matters not
Let not any noise bother me
Silence is music to my ears when I write
Let my mind travel to future, to past, or to time that never existed
To land where no one has been to
Where our dreams are reality and our fears are walking
Or let the dreams and far future mix together
The place I stay determines that land that my mind will travel to
Forest will result in land known to no one and that of the ancient people
Café will result in our land with a story of human courage
My bed will result in all mixture of time and lands and make a land that only I know of
Ideas sparked by tiniest ember
Will grow into big flames that is dependent on books, moods, feelings, movies, and many more
My mind picks on surroundings, feelings, and other works to make it its own

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Wonderful description of how poets think and get their ideas from their surroundings, feelings, etc. Silence is golden, yet I write to the sound of music constantly, especially Chopin. Everyone has their individual inspiration, that's what creates the variety of poetry in the world today. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
