Contentment Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

Contentment

Rating: 5.0

Remember a time
when all of desire.
Was to lay beside.
During long quiet
hours of nightfall.

To hold to care to
lay near breathe.
Each lung filled moment
suspended hear.
Your heart beat. Echo
softly as night calls.

To hold within
long empty arms.
No more. As day ebbs
broken beating down
dissipated bloodstream.
Regardless of beauty
past felt betrayals
faults all imperfections.

To accept without restraint
being as sculptured weathers.
Such is love leased forever.
