Conversations With A Former Lover Poem by Ella Lazaare

Conversations With A Former Lover

Rating: 4.0

I'm speechless, no idea what to say

All I need is a promise you'll stay

Of course. But I'm curious, what'd he do?

Left me full of remorse, same as you

I'm sorry, okay? But this guy was worse

You know I've taken up poetry? You're in every verse

I didn't mean to hurt you, I swear

I've got so many secrets left to share

You know you can still talk to me

Not since you found another girl to see

Damn it, I'm trying!

I'm already dying

I loved you, you know it

You know we were a perfect fit

Stop. It had to end

You were my best friend

You're hurting, you're not making any sense

I'm learning how to love and that's my only defense

I hate to see you like this

Then look away. I'm no longer yours to miss

Brave utterances set aside for honest reflection. A highly relatable work. Thanks for sharing Ella.
