Corner Of This Heart. Poem by Veronica Powers

Corner Of This Heart.

Rating: 5.0

Seems like a forever
When forever takes too long.
Bated breath-
Waiting for just a single glance,
I’ve waited just enough.

All these broken wishes,
Piled up in a corner of my heart.
Hoping to anyone that will hear me,
That my wish could be your command.
Mistrust and hatred
Go hand in hand.
But my love for someone that has wronged me,
Is stronger than a missed chance.

This dreary place
Strings a chord in my monotonous heart,
It should not be so lonely
But it’s not easy to mend a broken harp.
Walking along side each other down this very path,
Marking our names and how long we thought we would last.
Sharing kisses as the sunset passed,
Walking into what we thought would be
Our forever.
