Crave Poem by Jasmine Brinkley

Crave

To crave for a being
So involved and needed
Itching for a hit like a drug addict
Willing to do anything for another fix
Makes the skin burn and sweat
Never getting enough
No way to be strong
Trying to go without only hurts and makes things worse
Makes the quitting harder
The next hit will be different
But how can I leave him?
A hunger that is never satisfied
A thirst never quenched
A yearning disease
A burning desire
Liquid desire rolling on my skin
Feel like jumping out of it
Onto his
Foe or friend
Fever raging in and out
Consciousness ebbing as pleasure overtakes
Only to awaken and find worse pain
Caught in between heaven in hell
Tastes so sweet with the salt running down my body
Left with a bitter sensation
It’s easier than facin
The truth and troubles
But how do you stop
This tick tock on the clock is all you hear
Whispers there’s nothing to fear
Has made you bold and brave
Only to be trapped once again
In this insatiable crave
