Crown Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Crown

I got the right to take back my joy
I got the light to attack the maniacs
And I ain't carrying the weight alone
They'll find the burden to heavy
and lose sight of how all this came about
And I would tell them, "no! "
I won't drink the cup of poison
it's been written, I'm the nation that is chosen
So I have the right to choose
All the ways to put my voice at fair use
But I'll remind those who are lost
I'm too beautiful, I'm too rich,
I'm good
bringing the promises of
humanity to the forefront
Everytime an issue rise, their like,
"why can't you be complacent"
This going always be
a nation that will work adjacent
Who when seeing wrongs
will make a social statement
Every time an issue rise,
they can't understand the relation
But this is the nation
Who avoid it and not face it
