Cruel Lines Poem by Godece Jasmine Rosal

Cruel Lines

Alone. How lovely it is to be
Yet how cruel it is to be
How cruel to be with myself. Only myself
I remember. Dream.

Your kiss. Lips. Breath.
How lovely it is to have them and without having them.
To dream them if only for tonight.
With myself. Only myself for it is
A secret dream. Wish. Desire.

I love you. Words without thought.
At least to myself.
How lovely it is to hear it.
Yet how cruel it is to hear it.
To hear it without seeing it.
To feel it without knowing it.

I hate you. Words with thought.
Emotion. Grief.
If I hate you.

How lovely it is to hate.
Yet how cruel it is to hate.
For it is a strong word.
Stays forever. Ever.

How lovely it is to be with you.
Yet how cruel it is.
For you have stolen my heart. In a moment.
In a beat.
Cruel. For you have loved me and not loved me.

How cruel you are.
Yet how wonderful. Special.
How lovely it is to have known you.
Yet how cruel it is.
For if not, there would be no alone
There would not be this
