Cuckoos Flown….1306 Poem by saadat tahir

Cuckoos Flown….1306

Together the elders and the young,
to splash around or take the plunge.

Farm on Tyne; to the clucking hen?
Where this time? The canyon then!

Savers packed and dingys strung.
Snorkels stowed and aqua lung.

Those sandy pails with life jackets!
An old football with some rackets.

Tires taut and radiator done.
Pump the motor, lurch and lunge.

Favorite CD and your lass.
Wipe the windows, hit the gas.

Rake up coals till the embers glow.
Rev up the fan till the juices flow.

Spoon of honey for the glistening look.
Dash of onions like a pic in the book.

Twist of lemon for an aroma great.
The lounging ones need that bait.

A brush of basting, a final touch.
Hand it over just as much.

Garlic sauce to hit home hard.
Look out for that bony shard.

Giggles, screams; from little ones.
Granny here with her timeless puns?

Dad and mom, lost in their own.
Wondering where the cuckoos flown.

A poignant picture drawn with images for taste buds, pungent and aromatic! lines with underlying meanings: 'Rake up coals till the embers glow.'/ The lounging ones need that bait.'

Dad and mom, lost in their own. Wondering where the cuckoos flown. as we grow old, do things to upset...hurt..careless on our way...to where? our deeds returned one day...lost n abondoned in a viscious cycle...wondering what went wrong? what i lacked? unanswered n puzzled....thanks sharing.
