Cutting-Low>>> Poem by Manonton Dalan

Cutting-Low>>>

riding lawn mower purring
cruising length of fairway
48 inches of whirling blade
razor sharp that it can slice
golf ball in half like cheese
like tile layer starting from
middle spreading to both sides
sweet smelling newly cut grass

am impress by man riding it
doing solitary job under sun
machine vibration keeps him
awake on every curve, uphill,
downhill, tree trunks, rocks
what could have motivated him
money, independence, grass smell
that keeps me wondering; how
can a man do that in year round
i find that a routinous work
