Daisy (Dedicated To Cherie W.) 11/15/10 Poem by Peter Silver Love

Daisy (Dedicated To Cherie W.) 11/15/10

Feeling the sunlight
Crisp and warm
Bathed my waking face
I rose my arms
Opened my mouth
In a yawning state

As focus slowly opened my eyes
The need to rub it
The shock that comes
Had brought out the sedulity
In a questioning state

As disbelief
Surrounded my old being
I took the moment
To start my waking beginning

For what I saw
Were
Rows of tulips
Embracing
The sea of roses
Hugging
The ocean of flowers
Bearing many colors
Yet unchanged
From white to yellow
As it hugged
My emotions into a bellowing
Surrender

Far and vast
Deep and beautiful
Seemed to foreshadow
The upcoming events
Which took me here
To clasp my hands in prayer
Wishing it weren’t but a false dream
To fall into someone else’s deceiving trap

For
I remembered
I distinguished perfectly
The taste
The smell
The aroma
Which lingered on my lips
And tickled my very nose
Leaving me to surrender my will
To follow the essence of the light
Laid upon the dirt path
As I walked on by
Reaching toward the emptiness of the sky
Falling in step
With the sway of the singing flowers

I finally saw
A lone tree
Fully blossomed
Sakura tree
With daffodils, sunflowers, forget-me-nots
All sorts of yellows and whites
Embracing
The joy of being there
The joy of finally setting down
And watch the clouds go by silently
Like a cat roaming around freely

Walking slowly toward the mellow tree
I spotted a flicker of movement
A silhouette of a figure
Which had a certain texture
Like the soft, bellowed clouds
Comforting the giant yellow above

Like any other curious little fellow
I pranced right along
The path the tree above

Right upon that moment
The foot before its trunk
I heard a soft voice
Echoing through the mellow sky
It stopped my heart
Plugged my lungs
Leaving me to writhe
And follow through
Toward the source in front

Slowly
I trod carefully
Through the singing flowers of this meadow
Slowly
I came across
This mysterious fellow with this angelic voice
I heard from right below

Turning that moment
From down to up
My heart made a certain flip-flop
Flying high fly to the
Big, yellow up, up there

Further I climbed
Further I crawled
As the sun fell
Setting the mellow
To a soft yellow
Hugging the cherubic angel’s face
Sitting by the trunk in front

Falling
Further and further
I swallowed
Yet my throat was all dry
I spoke
But words were jammed in my heart

Struggling
Slower and slower
Finally, finally
Got the courage
To say hi
Just before
I fainted away
Into a deep slumber
I had regretted all along

Breathing in and out
As my heart
Made its settling beat
Waiting
For the next day to come
Hoping it would be just like this

For another scar
On my heart
Fell away

For another jewel
Filled another part
All full again
Because of you
The true and only
Daisy
That of I name you
