Dance Of Life Poem by Joseph Cross

Dance Of Life

Rating: 1.0

Joy is a statue, crafted in marble.
I see her sinking into time's sands.
Her expression is calm, yet slightly puzzled,
Her eyes blinded with lust for life.

Greed is a vault, chained to mankind,
dragging them down into the dust.
He dances with Joy in the pale moonlight,
Never caring that their fates shall be shared.

They dance in circles beneath the stars,
Winding a path for men to take,
Deeper into the sands of time,
Happiness becomes a terrible fate.
