Day Light Comes Poem by Rick Elpers

Day Light Comes

In the quiet of a cloudy morn
Thoughts run dogs eat
The cat watches
I sigh for relief
From aloneness
Cars roll by peopled
Going coming busy
But I sit here waiting
For them to finish
She sits on my lap
Still watching
Waiting as I
Ponder time to spend
Drinking coffee
