Done What Was Not Poem by Rick Elpers

Done What Was Not

Rating: 4.3

So now death succumbs
To my thoughts wrapped
In loneliness
Not that time doesn't own me
As I stand on the precipice
Viewing the canyon of expectation
Shall I jump into the abyss
Clothed in hope
Secured with faith
Bound to belief
Knowing not a future
Existing moment to moment
Breathing the stale past
Exhaling in the present
Now where death beckons
Out ahead
Not fearing oblivion
Just remorseful
Of all that came before

Amazing! At once you describe all our anxieties and doubts. Great Poet.

I love this poem, how dark, nostalgic and weighted it seems. Fantastic write!
