Dead End Road Poem by Timothy Hector

Dead End Road

Rating: 5.0

I can’t cope anymore, it’s such a mess
I do what I can, I try my best
But for every step forward I take two back
I just can’t do it, I am fed up, I am jack

No job, no car, no real home
My only relationship is had through a phone
I need something solid, someone to hold
Are you to young? Or am I to old?

My life is maze, full of dead ends
I take different paths, make no real friends
Because sooner or later I will reach another wall
I don’t want connections when I have my next fall

It killed me last time to say goodbye
I lied to their faces, and held a brave smile
I said “I’ll come back; it’s only for a while”
As I drove away a shed a tear from my eye

For I knew that was the end of that old life
I started a new one, kept out of strife
But then I met you and my whole world just stopped
Forgot what I was doing, I was so lost

No I have a connection, strongest I’ve felt
You can’t change the hand that you’re dealt
So I am at a dead end, nowhere to go
What do I do? How should I know?

Timothy........ Firstly cheer up and keep writing because you're good and could be better. Secondly you've heard the idea of 'unto thyself be true'.Stop worrying about other people and what they think of you and concentrate on what you think of you. Be yourself and people will take you or leave you, OK? Keep writing your poetry only pay attention to the detail.....are you to young..(too?) ....I to old...(too?) ..........No I have a connection....(now?) If you don't care about your poems.....why should I? Keep going.....and say hello Martin
