Dear Daughter Poem by Dr. Insha Iftikhar

Dear Daughter

You
My Princess
You
I knew it was
A lioness
In my womb.
I carried you
Weaved you inside
With warmth
With courage
With power
With my soul.
Yes
I have known you before I carried you.
In my dream
We would play, chat, learn and smile.
You and me.
You are my dream come true.
They will say
I shout
I rebel
I refuse to say
Yes sir.
Oh yes I do.
Those shrieks
Like those when u had to come to my arms,
Those we are proud of
The mess, the cries, the pain, the strength;
It has all let you and me, be.
Tonight, when you are kept away from me,
Just remind them
No matter what
You love your MeMe
