Too many trivial things in mind
Checkered concerns, they occupy
That somehow I failed to find
There was a sadness in you eye
And how insensitive it was of me
To not be there for you as promised
How many the burdens have seemingly
Overwhelmed the dear friend I cherished
Your words echoed the unsaid pain
I glanced the meanings fleetingly
The portrait there now I see again
And friend, I embrace you now tenderly
Rest and be at peace for the moment
I hold you in words and in loving prayer
Know that whatever is your predicament
You will find a friend, I am always there.
