Dear Me Poem by christina clemente

Dear Me

You've struggled to be the best version of you.
You've been through so much over the years to forget.
Wham! ! ! It hits you like the smell of urine baking on NYC summer streets.
He's here and he knows who you are now.
There's no hiding from him.
You can't just stalk him like you have for the last nine years.
Wondering what if we were together.
What if I was his one and only?
I can't imagine what life would be like if this were the scenario.
I can't take back the past.
I have to realize that I will always be his second place.
That will never change.
I want what I didn't get the the chance to have before.
I want you.
Love,
The future you
