Death By Not Writing Poetry Poem by Terence George Craddock

Death By Not Writing Poetry

Rating: 5.0

death by not writing
poetry unwrit pining
away with no chance
no words to write
in head swamping

don't you cry poetry
say goodbye poetry
I can't to you lie poetry
can't afford time poetry
can't afford creativity poetry

this is not machine All Black rugby
not America's Cup kiwi yachties
these are kiwi plastic fantastics
high profileNew Zealand victories
down out poet blood pressure was

once textbook 120 over 80
now 112 over 82 eyes
once 20/20 now crap needing
glasses power level aiding
plus 2 or on screen blurring

unreadable words swimming
all over page sightless place
no I am not presently dying
because I cannot bloody
see but because no quiet place

to write is economically
unaffordable for me slipping
away on words to say choking
this is the death of possibility
this is tragedy unwritten visions
