# Death Is Not Just Poem by Samanyan Lakshminarayanan

# Death Is Not Just

Rating: 3.8

the gruesome way
death finds its way
leaves one dumb as dead
does not seem a deed of god
this death

the bad over powers
CHRIST the god himself
was nailed to death
MAHATMA the human himself
was shot to death
the bad doth over power

my dad was a tender man
a man who never thought bad to any one
a man who was a very positive one
his last words still reverberate in my ears
HIS LAST WORDS STILL REVERBERATE IN MY EARS
WHY ARE WE SUFFERING THUS?
WHY AM I IN SO MUCH PAIN?
SOME ONE HAS CAUSED THIS BAD
THE BAD HAS OVER POWERED US
so NEGATIVE he became
......may be....may be....it may be the
PAIN.....which made him say so....BUT
DEATH HAS NEVER BEEN JUST
does not seem a deed of god at all

It is sad when anyone suffers pain before death, then death becomes a merciful release, a very thought provoking write, thanks 10 Lynda xx

Understand your feelings, Samayan. It is hard to understand how 'karma' operates. ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE! Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: 'Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease'? To this Arthur Ashe replied: 'The world over - 50 million children start playing tennis,5 million learn to play tennis,500,000 learn professional tennis,50,000 come to the circuit,5000 reach the grand slam,50 reach Wimbledon,4 to semi final,2 to the finals, when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD 'Why me? '. And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me? ' Happiness keeps you Sweet Trials keep you Strong Sorrow keeps you Human Failure keeps you humble Hema Ravi,16.09.09

Very moving. I can hear your inner cry in every line of this poem. We are too finite to understand why death and suffering does not spare either good or bad people. I am very sorry for your loss.10/10. Kind wishes, Sandra

touching poem....imminent of death is sometimes pain free when it is abrupt to its cause others with long suffering...so there are things to consider and to differ..but within the hand of God if its your time no one know or can predict it... good theme to discuss with....

I think it is a question of acceptance....three persons whom I know very well - really good people in every sense of the word have died recently..slow and painful deaths from cancer...None of them deserved the pain...but I noticed a certain common reaction from all three...they seemed to bow down to the will of the Almighty and accept their condition...All the same this is a very thought-provoking poem Samanyan..

Good and bad are only relative. We may say that bad has overpowered good to shoot Gandhiji and crucify Christ. Our point of view may be justifiable but did Christ take for himself that it was a terrible act upon him? Was he so helpless to avoid being crucified? If he had the power to escape from the grave, he certainly had the power to escape from being crucified as well. But he accepted it. There was the sense of acceptance from the point of Christ. He considered his mortal framework as perishable however he might protect. This was his attitude. Attitude counts more than the actual situation. Gandhiji also had accepted the last shot. Otherwise, he would not have prayed 'He, ram! '. Instead, he would have cried 'Ayyayyo! ' From our point of view, they may sufferers but from their own point of view, they are not. This is a point of reflection for us. The world may say this and that about a person but we need not pay attention to it. We can't blame the world for their comments because, it is the very way of the world. We can't teach the world the right method either. It won't listen. We have no choice over that but we have the choice to accept the comment and cry or not. If you are convinced about the goodness of your father, leave it there. More than self conviction, we can't convince the world. This is clearly to be understood.
