Debbie -U.K Poem by Randy McClave

Debbie -U.K

On our first date her dress was blue
Not much later she said, "I Do",
The garter that she wore was all white
She watched Kentucky basketball on our wedding night.
We were married in Lexington Kentucky
She said there makes her wild and exciting and plucky,
I remember her tossing her wedding bouquet in the air
"Tip off! " she then screamed to all as a dare.
I remember when I gave her, her wedding ring
She decided that we would be married in early spring,
The cake design that she chose was that of a Wildcat
And her veil that she wore to her delight, was a U.K hat.
Our honeymoon she said would be a sheer madness
But, to me it was just a sadness,
She sat dressed in blue and white on our wedding bed
While the March line up to me she excitedly read.
For our honeymoon I wanted to go to romantic Vienna
Whereas instead we went to Rupp Arena,
Some men wants a woman who begs for more
I had a wife who screamed, "Let's make it to the final four".
March 19th is our anniversary day
My wife spends the whole month watching U.K play,
I truly thought and believed that she loved me to the letter
But, she loves Kentucky basketball that much better.
