Decision Poem by Helena Thomas

Decision

Upon finally constructing my building, 'Decision',
I came across an obstacle, 'doubt'.
I knew it wouldn make a very good corner-stone,
yet still my eyes were transfixed to its very presence.
Even in my plans for the building I hadn't envisaged this.
I began to think, 'however lovely my building would be,
just a simple tremor or even over time it would be knocked down, '
but I continued to build it anyway,
since I knew that it would not only please me, but please others.
After all, whose city is this?
