Deserving Of Empathy Given Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Deserving Of Empathy Given

Who is it more deserving,
Of empathy to them given.
Should it be the one allowed from birth,
Taught to teach without 'things' to have...
Within their reach,
Life to live with this blessed to get...
Is a worthless life to regret it lived.
Or should it be the one made to believe,
A doing to abuse others...
Unnecessarily whenever they please.
Done to deceive,
For the purpose to enjoy...
Personal satisfaction to employ.
Regardless who it may be destroyed.
As if gifts of commodities.
Quickly replaced.
When annoyed by such 'toys'.

And in these days,
When everyone faces...
The advancements of technology.
Should those self serving,
To know this shown as a way of life.
Be the ones criticized.
Since denied they had been,
Given insight to a life lived...
Among human beings also with rights.
Should people like this,
Be deserving of empathy to get?
Or lavished with sympathy?
In the hopes psychotherapy,
Eventually mends to fix their mentalities.

Or...
Should it be kept to condone and believe,
We live in an increasing population...
Seeking more to feed a need,
To entertain their own detriment.
With a doing to elect,
Those who best represent their interests.
