Detachment: Massive Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Detachment: Massive

Massive is the detachment.
Effectively to have attracted,
Minds deluded.
As an entitlement to value.

Unmatched,
Are those secluded...
In protected wombs.
Cocooned.
And nourished within,
An entirely fictioned...
Alternate Universe.
One in which madness is served.
On a daily basis,
Praised with needed adulation given.

And...
Off limits and restricted,
Is truth more to fear...
Than 'kryptonite' to have it mentioned.

Leaving self proclaimed superheroes,
Assured they will receive...
Milk and cookies.
Before being tucked into bed.
As treats to eat to soothe their minds.
In the hope the doing prevents,
Childish tantrums to occur.

If suspected in a mind like this...
Overwhelming fed fiction from birth.
Overhears it heard...
From sworn 'loyalists',
That the Earth is not theirs to own.
Or rule.
With this to know...
Havoc to have it,
In the alternate Universe.
Will mean weeks of vicious eye rolling.
And months of pouting.
Not to be prepared or aware,
Who next gets the boot.
Smeared with unproven allegations!
