Distance Poem by Edwina Reizer

Distance

You are half a world away from me.
At least that's how it seems.
The miles of separation I see
sometimes in my dreams.

They lengthen in their distance each day
and never shorten in length.
I often wonder if you feel the distance
and if I have the strength

to dismiss from my mind how far it is
and focus on other facts.
I must forget about half a world away
and return to tangible acts.
