Distance Poem by Prof.Hrushikesha Mohanty

Distance

Measured the distance
Between lips and cups!
Measured the distance
Between mine and your's
Thought that distances
A flower bud to blossom
Distancing spring from summer!

You climb up and I do climb
On the top the saint creeps in.
Asks the question- why do you climb?
I turn back as there nothing to hide!
There is distance, on that can bleep
On that mound it can only keep.

It beacons
Makes the distance dozes,
You and me chose again to bridge
The distance that grows oversize!

Vast stretch of ocean blue
The lagoon there has no clue.
But the waves at a distance
Push through the weeds.
The sailor at a distance knows the quiz.

Quizzes are cuisines
Distances are dears.
Neck deep water don't climb up;
Distance is a digestive
Brings no burp!
