Don'T Be Afraid. Poem by xolisa stuurman

Don'T Be Afraid.

Don’t be afraid…

It was never an intension to love him; it was a blessing to fall in love.
Little did I know how a blessing can cause distractions, just because of love?
It was a yearning for someone to love me.
Little did I know how a wish could bring me so much pain?
It became a promise never to allow love to fill this void, because this time I knew my chances.

Yet if I don’t erase the past and start all over again.
Little would I know how a heart could beat again?
Don’t be afraid to love.
It is not an intension to love, or a wish to hurt.
It is a promise to heal and let life carry us through…
Nothing ever comes with guarantees.
There can be specials and sales, but life gives no warrantees.
Except a chance to live another day, another way.
A choice to experience repeatedly, finding joy in those little things that bring and make sense to you.

You are never afraid to smell the rain, even though others cannot comprehend your thoughts.
You are never afraid to pick up lost and abundant man made creations, though absurd to others.
It is perfect with you.
Let love take you to a journey you want to be…
Let life be a promise to mend and clot all broken wounds.
Let nature grow flowers in spring, pour rain in winter and the sun to shine in summer.

Don’t be afraid to be free in your mind, because most of the time we’d rather punish ourselves, for someone else’s mistake, deeds or decisions
I am not afraid to be just me…
