Don'T Dare To Me Wave Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Don'T Dare To Me Wave

How do I know I am the real 'thing'?

'Yeah.
How do you know that? '

For some reason,
I am not willing to sell myself cheap.
With the getting of recognition.
While others will strip naked,
Just to confess...
They've done it just to get,
Noticed.

'So...
What are you saying? '

I don't want to offend you,
But...
I don't want to be arrested,
Because you have chosen to be undressed.
Nor am I seeking to be declared your accomplice.

Go over there and away from here!
And don't dare to me wave.

'People like you are so ungrateful.
I am here to help you out.'

Go over there and away from here!
And...
Don't dare to me wave.
