Don'T You Understand? Poem by Jie Guan

Don'T You Understand?

I'm never the one I seem to be,
I'm not the straight A student in school,
Nor the one that sunk into the shadows.

Every move I make has a dark side of it,
Wether embroiled in lies,
Or filled with lone ness,
I do not know.

I only know that my road to the future,
Is not a bright one,
The world isn't that beautiful,
That I have understood a long time ago.

Don't you understand,
That every correct problem I solve,
The deeper I sink into this mess,
This mess of corruption.

Lies will be told,
Hearts will be broken,
Can't you see that now,
Don't you understand?

Don't you understand?
