Doubt Poem by Serena Blackinton

Doubt

I felt your spirit call out to me
when I first read your words
I realize it was a fantasy
and more than a little absurd

Cause how can two souls connect
on the basis of a lie
And what is it I could expect
when you refuse to even try

As I read your work again
I was unpleasantly surprised
The words which once flowed from your pen
were merely plagiarised

On what basis have I to trust
when the truth grows dissolute
The fire of passion turns to dust
And doubt has taken root
