Dream Girl Poem by Izik Alcox

Dream Girl

Rating: 4.5

searching for my earth shine, lost within the glare
teared up from the snow blind, lost within this stare
gleaning the fields of love, searching for soul food
never thought you'd be above, having to conclude
blind are my eyes but you still shine true
teary I continue on stumbling through
contemplating giving in, distressed I stop
missing that tender skin, gleaning this crop
harvesting my depression, to get passed it
looking for my obsession, I just can't quit
could I have missed my chance
when I was blind to your glance
the more I look the better you smell
with all you took and left me this spell
I'm enchanted by the fact, separated by time
your exactly what I lack, must I continue to climb
I'll find you if that's all that I do
this love is true what else can I do
pedantic is this search, your smell and touch
that of a tender birch, craved oh so much
exhausted I am, I lay down and you appear
bringing me water and a smile that wipes away fear
I wake up and your nowhere to be found
are you just a dream, I'll still search I'm bound
your blinding smile is all that's worthwhile
