Yearning Poem by Izik Alcox

Yearning

Rating: 5.0

The love that beats from my heart lay dormant
The unheard voice of my soul, my heart's formant
How long will loneliness plague my existence
The empty shadows becoming my subsistence
Alone I will face another day seeing others in love
Unable to cry, empty, shaded, jaded there of
Some see it as pathetic while others relate
Some take things for granted while I await
Expressing my feelings on pages I couldn't cry on if I could
Exposing my weaknesses and revealing dreams understood
Interpret me as you wish, I know not your reality
Understand though this is merely my written mortality
I cry from the depths of my soul
My fate has been denied control
Yearning for my center, my better half
Someone who can make me laugh
Where are you if you even exist
Or has my chance been missed
Fate is indeed a roller coaster ride
How long till I get off and find my bride
