Dreaming… Poem by Olivia Slemmermann

Dreaming…

Fantasizing or dreaming what have I been
Whatever… are you really, really real?
Or just a hallucination my mind conjured
‘Cause I know how ill I’ve been

A figment of imagination maybe, surreal
A bittersweet nightmare that taunts me by
Or a dazzling romance tantalizing
Straight off the clouds in the sky

Have you been dreaming?
And teleported to me
Willing your love conjointly
Unrestrained with mine to be

You willed so endearingly
How I cannot just understand
Just how magnetic can it be?
To attract a love so forcefully

Love and devotion to me
Was it for real I implore to perceive
As sick as a crow without a caw
I lie here, was I waiting for thee

How did you know I was the one?
The wide, wide world over
You searched and found
Traversing over great wide seas you said

Risking your very flesh, bones and skin
Where did we meet my treasured one?
Was it on Venus, Neptune or Mars?
How did you find me?

As no love such as ours
Have it known to exist…
And will ever expect to see
The light of day for all eternity
Not in this world…
Only in our dreams will it ever be.

Continue dreaming!
