Duplicity's Failure Poem by Sandra Feldman

Duplicity's Failure

Rating: 3.5

When you see,
The perfidy
In the human being,
The treacherous duplicity
That assaults you,
And others
But that they hide
Behind masks,
Of treacherous political tide
You want to run away!
Call it quits,
Lock all doors,
Whisper, Hide
Look for a dark room
In which to slide,
And give up the ride.
But then! You realize
That there is still Poetry
And you run to the window
To let in the light,
To hold hands with it
As Poetry illuminates,
The darkest night,
With kindness of feeling,
And lovable delight
Holding on to hope,
Tight, very tight!
